Warrington is a large market town in Cheshire, England, sitting on the banks of the River Mersey roughly halfway between Liverpool and Manchester. It began as a riverside crossing and market and expanded rapidly in the Industrial Revolution - the nearby Sankey Canal and later rail and road links helped develop chemical, wire and manufacturing industries, leaving a mix of Victorian architecture and industrial heritage.
