Brinsworth is a suburban village in the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham, in South Yorkshire, lying just to the south‑east of Rotherham town centre and near the boundary with Sheffield. It forms part of the South Yorkshire conurbation, with a mix of green spaces and residential streets and convenient road and bus links into the neighbouring towns and cities.
Historically the settlement expanded in the 19th and 20th centuries with close ties to the region’s coal and steel industries; today it’s largely a residential community of council and private housing with local shops, pubs, a community centre and amateur sports clubs. The village has a strong local identity and is commonly home to commuters who work across the wider Rotherham–Sheffield area.
