Caerphilly is a large market town on the southern edge of the Rhymney Valley in Wales, a few miles north of Cardiff. It is best known for the vast 13th‑century Caerphilly Castle with its extensive water defences and leaning tower, and for giving its name to the creamy Caerphilly cheese; the castle and surrounding parkland are focal points for tourism and community events.
