Cockerham is a small rural village and civil parish in the City of Lancaster district of Lancashire, England. It sits on the low-lying tidal plain beside the salt marshes of Morecambe Bay and close to the mouth of the River Lune, a landscape of reclaimed pasture, drainage ditches and wide coastal skies.
The local economy is largely agricultural, with mixed and dairy farming dominating the flat fields, while the area’s medieval past is visible in the nearby ruins of Cockersand Abbey. Its exposed coastal setting has long shaped local life through land drainage and flood management, and the village retains a quiet, tight-knit community centred on its church, pub and village activities.
