Fulwood is a sizeable suburb and ward on the northern edge of Preston in Lancashire, England. Historically a village outside the town, it occupies higher ground with a mix of suburban streets and green belts that edge towards the Ribble Valley and the Longridge hills; the area is also known for the former Fulwood Barracks, a 19th‑century military site that helped shape local development.
Today Fulwood is largely residential and relatively affluent, popular with families for its schools, parks and a compact parade of shops along Garstang Road. Community life centres on local clubs, churches and leisure facilities, while most employment comes from the wider Preston area - Fulwood nonetheless keeps a village-like, leafy character that makes it a sought-after part of the city.
