Meldreth is a village and civil parish in South Cambridgeshire, Cambridgeshire, England, lying in the valley of the River Mel close to the Hertfordshire border and the market town of Royston. Its roots go back to medieval and earlier times, reflected in a historic parish church, a number of listed buildings and traditional cottages that give the village a compact, rural character.
Today Meldreth combines village life with a significant commuter presence thanks to its railway station on the Cambridge–London line; local amenities include small shops, pubs and active community groups, while surrounding orchards, footpaths and conservation areas make it popular with walkers and those seeking a quieter base for working in Cambridge or beyond.
