Mytholmroyd is a village in Calderdale, England, sitting in the steep-sided Calder Valley beside the River Calder. The surrounding moorland and the prominent Stoodley Pike monument give it a dramatic, upland feel, and it lies close to neighbouring Hebden Bridge with good rail and road links to the surrounding towns.
Historically a mill and weaving community, much of its industrial architecture has been repurposed for small businesses, creative enterprises and commuters. It is best known culturally as the birthplace of the poet Ted Hughes and for a lively local community that rebuilt and campaigned strongly after severe flooding in 2015, with ongoing flood-alleviation work, walking routes and small-scale cultural events drawing visitors to the valley.
