Rothesay is the principal town on the east coast of the Isle of Bute in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, looking out over the Firth of Clyde. It grew as a popular Victorian seaside resort for Glaswegians and still bears that legacy in its long promenade, pier and period architecture; the town is anchored by the medieval Rothesay Castle and lies close to the dramatic, Victorian Gothic Mount Stuart house and estate.
